Wasn't sure if this was a complaint or not but i put it in anyways

It's just that the language rules in SN aren't set in stone and it's not confirmed what is appropriate and what's not.
Can anyone enlighten me on this?

Mild language is OK i believe however if it starts becoming personal and aimed at other members then it's a no no, although you best wait till some one more qualified responds. Rolling Eyes

To be honest, i dont think anyone knows.

Some capts punish people for the simple swear word - aimed at no one.

Every captian should punish people for swearing AT people

I've been told people are allowed to swear in the CC, just no at people. This is what i go by (what we've been told by, by the gens)

However, you will find some capts who disagree and will punish for all types of swearing

I thought it was alright if you know you've just died or something and are raging but in general if people start swearing in conversation for no paricular reason it doesn't seem right.

As we all know, people still have the profanity filter on. However, most players tend to have it off.

So filter dodging is still not allowed. But as for swearing, i allow it, so long as it is not excessive or aimed towards other players.

No swearing directed at others
No swearing in excessive amounts
No using the "c" word or others like this

think that about covers it

I'm a bit old skool with regard to swearing in fc.

Having said that I try not kick without warning, but I still believe that the FC isnt the place to be effing and jeffing. Understandable when you have just died and lost a lot, but even then its a deliberate act as you have to type it. Most of the swearing is un-necessary, and used for effect.

Thats my 2pence / 2 cents worth.

Agreed. I think the FC should be kept swear free, no matter what the cause. Like Gix said it is a deliberate act to type in the swear words.

And it's not like I don't swear. Our Nesticles Bandy party went a bit haywire in terms of language, but it was ourside the FC, and I think that's what matters. With friends who understand and tolerate it's okay, but in a community the general population should be respected.

On a side note my filter is always on :3.
