99 Strength or 99 attack?

Been thinking of what 99 to get? Stuck between those two. For Attack I would be using a whip + rune def. FTW. But, the problem is if I was to get 99 Strength, what weapon should I use?

My gear.
Slayer Helm
Torso
Torags legs
Dragon Boots
Fire Cape
Glory
Barrows gloves
Ring? Dont know which one to get

Attack: Personally I find this the better 99 to go for first. for these reasons
1. you get to use a whip, so faster training.
2. you hit more often making other combat stats go faster.
3. If you are doing slayer, after you get 99 attack, and you get metals, they become a breeze.
4. cooler cape imo

Strength: If you do choose this, which i don't recommend, you will probably choose to use a dscim/rune def, or a sara sword. I would use d scim because its cheaper, ss spec isnt that great anyway,and you can have a shield on high attack monsters,or dragons.

Thanks a lot! I was thinking of getting 99 Attack personally. But my levels are Att:75 and Str:76. Should I raise strength a little more for 99 attack? or just leave it at 76? And is my gear good? I have about 15m in my bank and don't know if I should get better gear or just keep what i have? Once again, thanks!

your gear is fine, in fact its great tbh. The ring doesn't really matter tho. Torso is good for most tasks, but you may want to get, torag/guthan/dharok top for consistent hitting tasks. Just pick one, they all have same stats. As for you stats, before you commit to either of them being 99, your going to want them both at 80 atleast, or else its going to be a very slow process. Doesn't really matter which you get to 80 first. Good luck with whatever you choose to do.

What pepsi said is the best way to get your stats to 99. When i went for my first 99 which was attack i also raised my strenth to 85 before pushing towards the cape, it saved a good amount of time doing it that way. As for ring choice while slaying i would think fero ring if you can use kuradal's dungeon otherwise just ring of slaying or berserker ring whichever you prefer.

Thanks a lot guys! I will definatly get my strength up to 85 and then go for 99 attack. Couple questions though, If i should get enough for bandos, is it worth it? A lot of people say that the armour is not worth it. And should I get a fury? I will probably get 70 prayer just incase I need Piety for some tasks or what not., thats gonna cost me about 1.4m

In my opinion, Bandos isn't worth it. Your gear is perfect. Fury is definitly nice,(thats what I use) but it doesn't make a significant difference. not 8-10m worth anyway. 70 prayer for piety is also great, that is something that pretty much becomes a staple. Also, what fuma said, Slaying or beserker ring is nice.
To me, this is how I feel about rings
Ferocious ring(which I know you can't use just yet), slayer ring, beserker, life/wealth.

Only reason I put beserker so low is because to me the small stat boost isnt worth a couple Mils

I personally think you should get 99 strength due to the fact that with more strength you will be able to hit higher thus increasing your damage overall. Most monsters have low defense and with an attack level of 85 ish you'll be hitting mostly anything pretty often.

I had the same question, and decided to go for 99 attack (91 str).

At the time of posting this message I'm close to 98 attack
