Anyone got some good artists/songs they could recommend for gym/cycling? Anything at all - I'm pretty lenient with my music collection (just not Justin Bieber or Call Me Maybe girl!)

Here are some songs/artists that I listen to in the gym
-Five Finger Death Punch -Bullet for My Valentine =Avenged Sevenfold (especially Waking the Fallen album) -All That Remains -Pantera -Trivium
Occasionally I will mix in some EDM, mainly Skrillex and Deadmou5. The drops can be pretty intense. To me, the most important thing is something that has a driving rhythm.
Good luck on fitness goals 2013

I have all of those bands already, save pantera will have to give them a try. Who sings eye of the tiger Eve?

The author of the topic apparently made a resolution to go to the gym more often and is asking about what music to listen to while there.

Some artists/songs I listen to when I hit the gym (minus the part about the gym, because I'm lazy...but if I dd work out I would listen to these)
Adept- The Ivory Tower
Anything from Sonic Syndicate
Amon Amarth (Viking metal!! Go Asgard!!)
System of a Down- Ariels, Toxcicity, Spiders, and Question.
Fly Leaf- Fully Alive
All That Temains- Focus Shall Not Fail, Two Weeks, and The Last Time
Children of Bodom- The Final Countdown (it's faster paced than the original), Angels Don't Kill, Bastards of Bodom, Needled 24/7, and Don't Stop at the Top
In Flames (too many songs to go through, I'd say just listen to all of them and choose what you like)
Soilwork- Distortion Sleep
I could go on, but I think I'll stop right here. (No gaurntee that all songs will help with workout)

Well when I'm running i like to listen to songs with a steady beat, so you should make a playlist for the different types of workout you do.
I.E.: steady music will help you to take even steps and to maintain the same speed.
For weight lifting (which i dont do much) i would suggest something encouraging like eye of the tiger or it's the final countdown (just off the top of my head).
for cycling listen to a song that's distracting and keeps you interest elsewhere because i find cycling extremely tedious and boring .
(sorry i didn't help much in the way of song choice, but this should help with genre).

Pretty sure most everyone knows about this, but incase you haven't....
Both are free (has ads, but if do a little finagling you can get it ad-free) internet radio sites. Both have apps on the Google Play and iTunes store, and whenever I'm not at home I usually listen to one of them. An easy way to decide which to use is to look at it this way:
- Pandora repeats a good deal of songs, but has a wider range - Thus making it more like a playlist on shuffle - Last.Fm doesn't repeat songs very often, it may be a good while before you hear it again, but doesn't have quite the range that Pandora does.
So yeah, I suggest you use either one of them, enter an artist you like, and it'll find artists that are similar (sometimes both get a little too far; had an instance where Skrillix came on after some Journey). Anyways, this is probably a bit redundant seeing as most people know about this ^.^ Hope it helped, nevertheless.
