[b]hey all, i am new to the forum, i am very interested in finding out how to join the clan, my in game name is stone-liter i would greatly appreciate some guidence on the process- thank you

Hi,
The in game Slayer Nest is operated as a Friends Chat, which is open to everybody, rather than a Clan Chat for which you need an invite.

Gixer is correct; Click on 2 green people-shape button on the bottom of your inventory screen, and type in: Slayer Nest.
