Road to Ascension Crossbow

Hey Guys, so this is basically a drop log while I kill Gladii in the ascension slayer dungeon – earning keystones to eventually earn an ascension crossbow.  The reason I am aiming for something of this value is I emptied my bank paying for 99 herb.. so needed some good money.

Im yaking everything to my bank – and each trip will be 1 - 3 yaks long.
Will only really be keeping track of keystones per trip - and I keep track of those by comparing to crimson charms per trip.

Once a week or so ill update with a bank progress picture of drops.

Gear: Super simple gear - only degradable component is royal crossbow.

To stay alive I use a vampyrism aura for an hour and then if I feel like sticking around guthix blessings and egg potato drops keep me kicking - even with void its pretty cruisy.

As far as abilities go - the gladii have an attack where they jump back once - if they jump back again they will rush forward and stun you.  So either stay close to them to prevent the move or use abilities such as anticipation and freedom to negate the stuns effect.

My ability bar is pretty simple:

My move combo is either:
Freedom - Fragmentation Shot - Rapid Fire
or
Anticipation - Fragmentation Shot - Snap Shot - (and then whatever is not on CD for last hit)

If you see anything wrong with my methods feel free to post - although have had good success with this set up so may keep it up

You should use the sacrifice ability too. That should be enough to enable you to not use any prayer at all.

Unfortunately was not playing during the we2, so could not purchase with renown. I shall endeavor to do some bandos/arma gwd to have a chance at unlocking it at somepoint

Ah. Well you could still just use the Guthix's Blessing ultimate from The World Wakes quest to recover hp instead of having to spend money on prayer potions.

Good luck on your quest by the way. I tried going for the same goal a week or five ago but it was too click intensive for me. So many drops to pick up and almost always items that were good enough to alch, in addition to having to click on the abilities all the time. Perhaps revolution would be a good idea?

Another fantastic idea I shall do that quest shortly so I can haha.

Yea I know what you mean... we'll see how I fair...
But that's why I switched to pack yak.. could cast the scroll while still attacking with a combo... rather than alching which was interrupting my flow

Plus I do not get to see my cash stack grow until at the end when I sell all the armor and such. So hopefully will have gathered a nice bit of wealth..

probably wont be killing any today though... did the death of chivalry quest, and afterwards my royal cross bow seems to have just vanished into thin air... have no clue whats happened - but not particularly keen to get another one for a while so will see what i can come up with in the mean time.

Is this crossbow the best weapon in the game?

Its 90 range - worth about 200mil... i dont even really want to keep it.. just good way to keep me earning some money

havent been back to gladii in days!! been busy irl and the time ive had on runescape is working towards elite achievement diaries.. will be back collecting once they are done

Are you still going for the crossbow ?

I am not after my most recent period away from game, i sold all keys upon returning to help afford some drygores for the weekend slayer comp, and haven't done any combat since.. just working towards completionist at the moment, but i have a new goal ill post shortly
