So the other day (after the demon flashmobs update) I loaded up Rs and this is what I got.

Halp Java10

So it seems I have two options, update java or ignore it.
Ignoring it just gives me a white screen when I load the game.
After updating and re-installing Java, the same "out of date" thingy appears when trying to load Rs.

I'm no techie and kinda clueless Neutral

You need to instal JavaFX and the problem should go away. Chrome needs additional runtime in Chrome 21 to recognize Java update

Small progress: After installing that FX thingy it no longer prompts me to update Java. However, after the stuff loads (check for updates, etc.) I get a blank white screen; the same thing that happened when I chose the "run this time" option earlier.

Also: I just tried loading Rs on good old Internet Explorer, however it froze at this screen

Ok, I looked around a bit and found this suggestion which worked for a couple of people

I found a Java - Chrome browser fix that worked. First I uninstalled all versions of Java. Then I downloaded an offline version of Java here: http://java.com/en/download/windows_offline.jsp
Closed the Chrome browser, then I installed the offline version.

When I re-opened Chrome and went to the Java test page, I was asked if I wanted to run Java all the time and I clicked "OK". This removed the second bar which said that I had an out-of-date version.

Good luck.

After doing this^ Java seems to be working now, the test on the Java website confirms it and it no longer asks to update. There seems to be another issue however, as once the "checking for updates" loading completes it still white screens scratch

I've never had this issue before and it came about first time I tried playing after the flashmobs update. Perhaps Runescape is having issues? I'll take a look on rsof and see if others are encountering the same problem.

I get the same prompt when I use chrome, however 'run this time' always loads the login screen. Also, never had a problem using ie; maybe try rs client?
