I've always wanted to make an inspiration type of thing to you guys out there who are perhaps quite a long way from your goals at the moment.
Most of you will know me as Pixie Hawke ingame.
I started to play this game back in May 2007.
Just do you remember that feeling when you first came off tutorial island and there were red levels all around wearing cool armour and you were there with a bronze sword and wooden shield? Didn't you just want to be like them, high levels with expensive stuff?
Back when I started I was F2P, and Saradomin trimmed rune armour was pretty much the best set back then. Everybody wanted it, and there were always high levels around wearing it. I remember asking one of those people for some money so I could start saving up to buy it. "No go away noob, lol". I was pretty much determined to get that armour so I stayed at Edgeville yews for a very long time, and it felt great when I made my first million gp. In the end, I managed to get full Saradomin and I was just so proud.
I then moved on to P2P woodcutting, where I first made my goal of 99 woodcutting. I met some friends from Seers' Village yews/magics, who I used to talk with all the time. My friend rubyfir3 eventually got 99 wc & fletch leaving me behind and pursuing a pking career. I stayed and tried to train combat a bit, but found it extremely difficult. After a few months, I saw her again after not being on for a school term and I found her to be 129 combat, with a fire cape, ags and bandos armour. She told me that she was soloing zamorak godwars too! It's just moments like that where you just feel so small, but you can't give up. I just thought, I'm going to get there one day. All my friends around me were rich and higher levelled than me at the time.
I also used to struggle to do one run at Barrows, haha. I would go with rubyfir3 and she would always get better loot than me, guaranteed. Pretty jelly huuuh.
Then one day when I was clue hunting, I asked this guy for help and he did, and told me to find him in the slayer nest clan chat if I needed more help. I started spending time in that chat and started doing slayer, and by doing so started gaining combat levels and cash along the way. SN organised GWD masses which I remember getting excited for - BANDOS! I even bought bandos boots for my bandos item but somehow managed to die as the tank at 105 combat or so. Then I sniped a zamorak hilt off 4get at my first zamorak GWD mass!
Slowly but surely I trained and gained more cash, eventually being able to afford bandos, karils etc. I actually got a visage at 109 cb. I eventually did my first GWD solo - bandos. I saw videos on youtube, and the one that I remember the most was the first ever corp solo vid from woox16. These people are very inspirational to me, and I was determined to solo near all the bosses in Runescape.
There were times where the xp seemed slow and everyone else was richer than you, and there was no point any more. But determination is key, and a community to support you along the way is also vital, so thank you slayer nest for that one.
So look at me today. From a level 3 in Lumbridge killing chickens to level 138 maxed combat, and I've soloed every boss in RuneScape minus nex, who I've trioed and attempted a duo. I also made it to a 3.8 billion gp bank from that bronze sword and wooden shield. From a no namer noob to an elite member in Of The Gods, an elite PvM clan, and have bossed with some of the best known PvMers.
Just don't give up; you'll get there if you truely want it.

Joking aside, I liked your story and i remember when my friend showed me RS for the first time back in classic, killing cows with bronze sword, doing cooks assistant and feeling like a pro, mining and smithing iron and feeling an accomplishment :'(
Those were the good days..
p.s thanks for helping me smith my obsidian
